We design gardens where people and nature can flourish

Privacy Screening

Privacy along the existing fenceline overlooking the house is attained either with a formal line of pleached trees to create a living screen, or alternatively a less formal option of repeating single stemmed trees of one variety. Both options complement the clean, geometric lines of the house and make use of the minimal planting space in this area of
the garden.

Patio Transition

Patio area functions as a transition into the garden, with large, contemporary, rectangular containers and a water table complementing the geometry and echoing the architectural
colour scheme. Planted with grasses to provide airy screening and movement and giving glimpses to the rest of the garden with perennials adding pops of colour.

Lawned Area

Design features for the lawned area: curved stepping stone path and contemporary pergola arches to break up, and delineate the space, or alternatively, a simple moon gate; grass mound sculpture reusing the pond excavation material, cutting down waste; and locally sourced feature boulders.

Bold Planting

Bold planting complements both the rural aspect and scale of the garden and includes stands of white-barked birch trees and coloured stemmed dogwoods, providing structure and striking winter colour and interest.

Feature Pond

A still pool creates a tranquil area at the bottom of the garden to sit, relax and watch wildlife in this naturalistic garden design.

A decked viewing platform, and a seating area with firepit are incorporated in the design.
